Taco Asylum is an adorable little restaurant located in the Camp in Costa Mesa, California. The Camp itself is a great little place to walk around, filled with unique little stores and boutiques and some of the most unique restaurants you’ll ever go to. Taco Asylum, being one of those unique restaurants, has quickly become one of my favorites. Their menu is simple: tacos (and some yummy appetizers such as chips and guacamole). Their tacos, however, are some of the most creative and unique food creations you will ever eat. One of my favorites is the Bacon PB&J taco which really does have bacon and peanut butter on it along with carrot-ginger jam. This combination seemed very weird to me at first when I saw it on the menu but after tasting it, it was one of the most delicious combinations of flavors I’ve ever had! Another one of my favorites is the Jamaican Jerk Chicken taco which has the perfect combination of spicy and sweet with Habanero-Pineapple Salsa on it. Really, any of their tacos are amazing. You can’t go wrong. I’ve only tried about a third of the tacos on the menu and have loved all of them. Taco Asylum also offers a variety of craft beers which I would highly recommend trying as well. If you are ever in the Costa Mesa area, check out the Camp and Taco Asylum!
