My previous post was about Canyonlands National Park in Moab, Utah, and I would like to follow up that post with one about my other favorite national park in Moab: Arches! Arches is home to the very famous Delicate Arch, along with Balanced Rock, Landscape Arch, and the multiple Windows. It draws tourists from all over the world, as these amazing arches and landforms can be found nowhere else and are truly an incredible sight to behold.
Below I’ve included one of my many photos of Delicate Arch; this one I took when there was no one around, which is a rare sight as Delicate Arch is usually always buzzing. The stormy skies in the background give Delicate Arch almost an ominous feel. Delicate Arch has always been one of my favorite sights in Arches to see; to even be able to see it you have to hike for quite awhile and at the very end when you come around the corner and see Delicate Arch in all its beauty, it makes every step of the way more than worth it.
Delicate Arch has more than just one viewpoint as well, although the one in the photo above is more popular. However, you can also hike from the back side and view Delicate Arch from across a cliff (photo below.)
Another fantastic natural landform is Balanced Rock, which is also in Arches National Park, and is another one of my favorite places to visit. The precarious placement of the rock is amazing and truly a sight to behold. Below is one of my photos of Balanced Rock. The streams of clouds create quite a unique backdrop.
Landscape Arch is another great arch to see; it is a little bit of a hike to get to but is very rewarding. It almost seems to blend into the background until you get up close to it, as you can see from my photos below, and once you do get up close, you can see smaller window arches next to it.
Petroglyphs are quite common in Arches National Park as well as Canyonlands. Below are some photos from Newspaper Rock, which has the most extensive amount of petroglyphs I’ve ever seen.
If you are planning a trip to Moab, Utah, Arches is one of the most amazing places to see with beautiful and unparalleled views! Check out my previous post about Canyonlands as well!
So beautiful are those photos; I love the petroglyphs
